Remember in our last post how we discussed the best wedding songs over time? Well, it got us thinking of those songs and the different ways they can be represented on your special day. Of course there is always the disc jockey route of them playing the original score. There is also the option of having just the instrumental played. However, we by far love the option of having it played live…and more specifically, by a stringed instrument!
Lauri Doss over at Coastal Elegance Weddings and Events of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina tells us that violinists are very popular right now. She says one out of three clients choose the live music option. She says many couples and brides find it more romantic, plus violinists are easily mobile for the many beach weddings they perform, unlike a disc jockey who needs electricity. There are some songs that are undeniably meant to be wedding songs. The lyrics, the melody, the sweetness; it is all there to make-up the ultimate romantic wedding song. We thought it would be fun to compile a list of the most popular wedding songs over the the years.
According to Huffington Post, who got their information from Spotify, the top 50 wedding songs include some songs that are just in their infancy. For example, they have “All of Me” by John Legend coming in as number one. At the number two spot they have “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. Finally in the third spot they have Ed Sheernan with “Thinking Out Loud.” While these are all good and romantic songs, we were surprised they outranked so many of the classic wedding songs.
Take for example, Etta James, and her amazing song “At Last;” a favorite of lovers. Who can forget “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by none other than the king of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley?
